INTRODUCTION
Ecobiopsychology
is a new methodological dicipline scientifically
dealing with the relationship between man and his
surrounding environment. Man is the ultimate result
of a development that has inseparably tied together
the mineral, the vegetal and the animal kingdoms,
in a systemic-complex organisation process. Starting
from this evolutionary assumption, Ecobiopsychology
intends to go deep into man's possibility to consciously
revisit the archetypal aspects of life, sedimented
in the body as instincts and traceable in the psyche
as symbolic images. The Weltanschauung Echobiopsychology
tends to, is not the one dominated by a pattern of
casual relation, by which all that concerns nature
and man is merely reduced to sign and semantics;
it can be rather defined as a holistic approach,
which endeavours to join harmoniously the conclusions
accomplished by physical and biological knowledge
with those of human sciences. Such a wide programme
requires, of course, the integration of a great number
of disciplines, which is made possible by means of
a correct use of the analogic and symbolic thought.
Through symbolical language and thanks to the comprehension
of the analogic significance of shapes, colours,
images, in short, of all that surrounds us, it is
possible to go back to the archetypes present in
man. We will be thus enabled to recognise the plot
of the totality of the world (Unus Mundus), and therefore
to perceive the sacred sense of existence. Through
these assumptions, ANEB operates as a scientific
non-profit making association, and gathers scholars
from various scientific fields, ranging from Psychology
and Psychoanalysis to Literature and Philosophy,
from Arts and Aesthetics to Mythology and History
of Religions, from Economics and Social Sciences
to Biology and Physics. The aim of this association
is, therefore, to recover a common approach to the
world and man based on analogy, a "circular
logic" thanks to which both the psychosomatic
aspects of the living and the synchronic events of
the becoming are being linked together. In this prospect,
ANEB organises popular seminars starting from the
study of psychosomatic functions interpreted through
a phylogenetic point of view. Exhaustive special
courses are also arranged to investigate thoroughly
and elaborate new therapeutic strategies.
